The mother of Moses/Musa represents one of the most dramatic characters in the Qur’an relating to the relationship between one’s child, faith in God and trust in the divine plan.

Eid al-Adha is not only about Qurbani, but faith, family and sacrifice. By reading the narrative of Ibrahim and his son intertextually, we can better appreciate how the Qur’an views “sacrifice” and understand the larger lessons that the scripture conveys.
