Dua If You Forget to Say BismilLah

When reading this Dua it is as though one has said Bismillah before one ate, and the Shaytan is prevented from partaking in the food.

Dua Before Eating

When the Prophet ﷺ was presented food, he praised Allah and acknowledged the blessings given. He taught us to recite the Name of Allah at the beginning of every task or deed, including eating. In doing so we are following the Prophet’s Sunnah ﷺ.

Dua After Eating

Among the practices of the Prophet ﷺ was praising Allah for food after eating, and so by following his practice we are reminded to praise Allah and rewarded for implementing the Prophetic Sunnah ﷺ.

Dua When Entering the Restroom

Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Whenever the Prophet ﷺ went to the lavatory, He used to say this Dua [Bukhari]. We should enter the toilet with our left foot first.

Dua When Getting Dressed

The reward for reading this Dua is that one’s previous and future (minor) sins are forgiven.

Dua When Wearing New Clothes

Whoever reads this Dua will be protected from the evil character traits associated with wearing new garments — such as conceit, arrogance and ostentation.

Dua To Repeat During Ramadan

It is recommended to read this Dua repeatedly during Ramadan and especially on Laylatul Qadr.
